Disney Cruise Line Returns to Prince Edward Island in 2027 Aboard the Disney Wish

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Disney Cruise Line will return to Prince Edward Island on October 27, 2027, when the Disney Wish makes its inaugural call to Port Charlottetown. The ship will arrive almost 10 years to the day after the Disney Magic last visited Charlottetown on October 25, 2017.

Departing New York City on October 24, 2027, the seven-night round-trip voyage will call in Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax before returning on October 31. It will be the Disney Wish’s only seven-night Canadian itinerary from New York.

The sailing will make the Disney Wish the first Wish Class ship to sail from New York City and, at seven nights, the longest round-trip itinerary offered during its limited fall 2027 New York City season.

The selection of Prince Edward Island reflects a natural alignment between the Disney and Prince Edward Island brands, both of which resonate across generations through imagination, immersive storytelling and experiences that stay with travelers for a lifetime. That connection is especially fitting for PEI, where L.M. Montgomery’s globally beloved red-haired heroine, Anne of Green Gables, has introduced generations of readers to the Island’s landscapes and demonstrated the enduring power of imagination to bring a place to life.

The itinerary creates a compelling fall journey from one of the world’s most iconic cities to the storied coastlines of Atlantic Canada. From the energy and ambition of New York City to Prince Edward Island, where imagination is woven into the Island’s culture, landscapes and storytelling legacy, guests will experience the seasonal beauty and distinctive character of Canada’s Atlantic coast.

Bringing the Disney Wish to New York City for the first time marks an exciting new chapter for Disney Cruise Line,” said Jose Fernandez, Disney Cruise Line Vice President of Port Strategy, Development and Operations. “By offering more ways to explore Canada’s Atlantic coast, our visit to Prince Edward Island next year will introduce our guests to the region’s rich culture, seasonal beauty and warm hospitality.

The Disney Wish entered service in 2022 and brings Disney storytelling to life through imaginative entertainment, innovative dining and experiences designed for guests of all ages.

Being part of the Disney Wish’s seven-night sailing from New York reinforces PEI’s position as a premier port of call in the Canada and New England cruise region. We are ready to welcome Disney guests back and show them what makes Prince Edward Island such an unforgettable destination,” said Mike Cochrane, CEO of Port Charlottetown.

The late-October call also advances the shared efforts of Port Charlottetown, the Province of Prince Edward Island and tourism partners to grow visitation beyond the traditional peak season. Disney guests will experience the Island at a distinctive time of year, pairing PEI’s autumn scenery and dramatic coastline with the flavours of Canada’s Food Island and the genuine hospitality for which the province is known.

Welcoming the Disney Wish in late October will help extend our tourism season and introduce more visitors to everything Prince Edward Island has to offer,” said Ernie Hudson, Minister of Fisheries, Rural Development and Tourism. “This visit will support local businesses and reinforce PEI’s reputation as a premier travel destination.

Port Charlottetown is Prince Edward Island’s marine gateway and a premier destination in the Canada and New England cruise region, recognized for delivering memorable experiences and consistently strong guest satisfaction. As Canada’s smallest province, PEI offers cruise guests a distinct advantage: the ability to experience the best of its capital and its coastal and rural character in a single day. Located in Charlottetown’s historic and walkable downtown, the port places guests’ steps from shops, restaurants, cultural attractions and a vibrant waterfront. Just beyond the city, PEI’s red-sand coastline, pastoral countryside, coastal villages, the flavours of Canada’s Food Island and the setting that inspired Anne of Green Gables are all within easy reach. Few destinations offer so much variety so close to the ship, complemented by the genuine Island hospitality that makes Prince Edward Island a standout cruise destination.
