Position: Maintenance Supervisor
The maintenance supervisor reports to and is an extension of the Operations Manager. They will be responsible to oversee the facilities operations as it relates to maintenance and events. Additionally, the Maintenance supervisor has specific responsibilities to ensure the day-to-day maintenance.
Responsibilities include:
- Forklift operation for manoeuvring large-scale equipment in tight spaces.
- Maintain Port-owned facilities, including Founders Food Hall, Seaport, grounds, and infrastructure.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety of all facilities.
- Oversee maintenance of port equipment including forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
- Implement and maintain daily bird deterrent measures.
- Service ship requests including the setup and takedown of gangways and water connections.
- Prepare the facility for commercial activity, including coordination with receivers for safe and efficient offload.
- Development and implement a preventative maintenance program, to ensure efficient operations at facilities.
- Monitor buildings HVAC operations to ensure efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Physical stamina for manual labor and operation of heavy equipment with capability to work at various heights.
- Proven experience with electrical, plumbing, construction and/or heavy equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather condition.
- Availability for shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call work.
- Marine Facility Security Officer (MFSO) designation considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required for safe and efficient coordination
Compensation:
- Rate of pay between $25-$30/HR based on experience.
