Cruise FAQs
I’m planning to explore Charlottetown by foot when I arrive. What sort of footwear and attire would you recommend?
Charlottetown is very walking-friendly, with relatively flat terrain, well-kept sidewalks, and plenty of green spaces to explore. We keep things pretty casual on the Island, so when it comes to footwear and clothes, we always recommend wearing what feels most comfortable. Please note that the weather on the Island can change quickly. For this reason, we recommend wearing layers, especially if arriving in May, June, September or October.
I would like to rent a car when I arrive at Port, is there a car rental company on-site?
While we do not have a car rental company located at the Port, the PEI Car Rental company is located within a short walking distance of the Port at the Delta Prince Edward. Several other car rental agencies also operate across the city, however, you may need to take a cab to their pick-up locations. We highly recommend you book your car rental far in advance of your cruise to ensure it is available when you arrive.
I would like to speak to a visitor guide when I arrive at the port, where can I find the closest Visitor Information Centre?
Port Charlottetown’s Guest Services staff will welcome you upon your arrival at port and are ready to answer any questions you may have about Prince Edward Island. For further help in planning your day, the Visitor Information Centre is mere steps away from Port Charlottetown at our sister venue, Founders’ Food Hall and Market.
